Implicit Differentiation

• Implicit functions: functions that relate variables together instead of defining one in terms of another
  • Allows variables to be mixed together
  • so we need some way to differentiate when there are two variables on the same side of the equation
• Steps
  1. Apply derivative rules where $\frac{d}{dx}y=\frac{dy}{dx}$
  2. Solve for $\frac{dy}{dx}$
